For adoption a beautiful 2 year old French bulldog called Queenie
Queenie is the sweetest little cuddle bug, she just wants to be your best friend and love you harder than you can love her. She will need owners that are mostly home hermits as shes happiest when at home with her humans and wants to do everything with you. She loves a gentle stroll for sniffs and a stretch and is starting to enjoy going out in the car.
Queenie bonded immediately with the resident dog but we feel that she should only be homed with a very tolerant dog as she does tend to trample over anything to get to what she wants and this could lead to conflict.
I’m confident Queenie could live happily with confident dog savvy cats, she wants to be besties with them and does cautiously and respect approach the resident cats in her foster home as she wants to kiss and love them however as they are dog wary cats and not dog savvy they don’t quite appreciate her efforts.
She is gentle but when startled she does a tiny growl when she’s unsure and as she does jump up and has no furniture boundaries we feel that she would benefit from an adult only home but visiting children would be fine but just mindful that she can be nervous and easily startled and to give her space.
We were advised she had food aggression however she’s not displayed any food aggression in foster, she is a food monster so if the fridge or a cupboard opens she’s right behind you but she doesn’t dive in cupboards and she is respectful when asked to back away.
We think her perfect fit would be a semi retired/retired couple that are mildly active and are home almost all the time and will continue Queenie’s on going traning and want a sweet little snuggle bug and take gentle walks and take Queenie with them everywhere and are ok with her on the sofa and the bed at night.
We are slowly building alone time by increasing separation daily in house and small pockets of time left indoors with resident dog. I do feel this will improve but this will be very slow progress.
Currently at 30 mins upstairs and 20 mins outside house.
Queenie is dog friendly, cat friendly, travels well in the car good at the vets
Queenie must stay on raw food due to dietary requirements but loves all treats.
Queenie knows the commands Sit, down, floor (all 4 paws on floor) stay (in progess)
In the summer Queenie loves to play with water from the hose.
