We are in urgent need of foster carers. If you can help, please get in touch today—together, we can save lives. ❤️ Call us on 01256 593 373 or email enquiries@helpingdogsandcatsuk.org
We have a growing waitlist of animals desperately needing a safe place to stay, but without enough foster homes, we simply can’t help them all. By opening your home to a foster pet, you’re giving an animal a second chance and helping to ease the pressure on our rescue.
Fostering is one of the most rewarding ways to make a difference. It provides dogs and cats with the love, care, and stability they need while they wait for their forever homes. Whether they are recovering from illness, have been abandoned, or simply need a temporary place to stay, foster homes save lives.
Fostering is a team effort, and you won’t be doing it alone. We provide:
🐾 A dedicated mentor to guide and support you
🐾 All food, supplies, and veterinary care covered
🐾 Ongoing advice and training to help you along the way
All you need to provide is a loving home, patience, and the willingness to make a difference. Whether you can foster for a few weeks or a few months, every foster placement means one less animal left waiting.
We welcome foster carers from all walks of life. Whether you have a resident dog, no other pets, live in a city or the countryside, or are looking to foster short-term, long-term, or in emergency situations, we need your help. We also have opportunities for adult-only foster homes and homes with or without children.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting, please review our criteria below:
For Dogs
✔ We do not home to flats above ground level.
✔ Children in the home must be 8 years or older.
✔ A secure fence or wall of at least 5ft is required.
✔ We do not rehome dogs to households where existing dogs have not been neutered or spayed.
This policy reflects our commitment to responsible pet ownership and ensuring the health and well-being of every dog in our care.
For Cats
✔ We do not home cats near main roads or railway lines.
✔ Children in the home must be 5 years or older.
These guidelines help us ensure the safety and well-being of every animal in our care. If you meet the criteria and are ready to make a difference, please get in touch today! ❤️
