meet HOLLY

Meet Holly!  Holly is a one-year-old Patterdale Terrier with a heart full of potential and a sweet, gentle nature. While she may feel a little nervous when meeting new people, patience and time to sniff and explore quickly help her settle. Once she’s comfortable, she adores a gentle fuss. At home, Holly is affectionate and thrives on human companionship, always eager to be involved and "lend a paw" in daily activities.

A Growing Confidence  Holly hasn’t had much socialization so far, so new experiences can make her cautious. She communicates clearly through her body language and seeks reassurance when needed, making it easy to support her as she navigates the world. She has met other dogs and, although initially wary, she’s curious and enjoys polite greetings before continuing her walk. With positive experiences and time, Holly could blossom into a more confident and social dog, even enjoying playful friendships.

What Holly Needs  Living Arrangements: Holly would thrive in a home with a calm canine companion who can help her build confidence. She recently shared her foster home with a delightful friend named Rocco, and the two loved snuggling, playing chase, and zooming around together. Rocco has played a big role in Holly’s confidence-building. She could also live as an only dog in the right home, provided her family is around for most of the day and can dedicate time to training, play, and love.

Training: As Holly is still learning the ropes, she’ll need a family dedicated to positive reinforcement training. She’s treat-motivated and already showing enthusiasm for learning, making training a fun and rewarding experience for her future family.

Time Alone: Holly can be left alone for short periods (1–2 hours) but struggles with longer absences. Her new family will need to gradually build her confidence in being left, helping her feel more secure over time.  Children: Holly could live with dog-savvy children aged 10 and older who understand how to read her body language and provide her with space when needed.

Cats: Holly hasn’t been cat-tested, but her terrier instincts and a high chase drive suggest a cat-free home would be best.   A Sweet, Calm Soul  Despite her young age, Holly is surprisingly calm and easy to live with. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and walks nicely on the lead. While her calm demeanor may shift as she gains confidence and discovers the fun life has to offer, she’ll always remain the sweetheart her foster family knows and loves.

Holly is bursting with potential and ready to thrive in a loving home that offers her the patience, guidance, and companionship she deserves.

Location: Holly is currently located in Basingstoke with her foster family.  If you wish to adopt this beautiful girl, please fill out our adoption form via the link below: New Adopter Application Form for Dogs   You can find my form " New Adopter Application  Form For Dogs" at: https://form.jotform.com/240103190249345
