Getting to know Lenny

Everything you need to know about Lenny, his personality and the home he is hoping for.

Lenny is affectionately known as Mr Chill, and it's easy to see why! Give this handsome boy a comfy bed and he'll happily snooze the day away. He loves people and has the most wonderful way of showing it: he'll lean his whole body into you for the best greyhound hugs, or rest his head on your lap while he waits patiently for neck rubs. And when he's really enjoying a fuss, he chatters his little teeth. He is an absolute cuddle monster wrapped up in a very handsome greyhound.

Lenny is an easy-going boy who enjoys being part of everyday life. Sometimes he'll follow you around, supervising whatever you're doing, and other times you'll find him fast asleep in the nearest comfy spot. He's housetrained, travels well and has lovely basic manners. Don't be fooled into thinking he's a complete couch potato, though: Lenny loves his walks, getting out and about, meeting friends and enjoying a good sniff. In secure, enclosed areas he enjoys a little off-lead freedom and might treat you to a few glorious zoomies before settling into a leisurely potter alongside you. Being a Greyhound, he isn't especially interested in becoming an obedience champion. He's much more of a 'what's in it for me?' kind of gentleman!

Lenny is brilliant with other dogs. He greets them politely, enjoys their company and could happily share his home with another suitable dog, but he has also lived as an only dog and would be just as content having all the love and comfy beds to himself. He has shown that he can be good around cats, but occasionally his Greyhound instincts make an appearance and he can become excited, so we'd prefer a cat-free home. We may consider experienced owners with dog-savvy cats who understand how to manage careful introductions. Lenny could live with children aged 10 and over, as long as they understand and respect his need for relaxation and space.

Lenny would love a calmer household where he can enjoy the peaceful, comfortable life he's used to, with his people around for much of the day, particularly while he settles in. After all the changes in his life, Lenny can currently feel anxious when left alone. He does settle, and he has been used to being left in the past, but he'll need patient, understanding owners who can help him build his confidence and gradually get used to spending time on his own.

Lenny isn't asking for adventures every minute of the day or a house full of excitement. He just wants a comfy bed, enjoyable walks, plenty of scratches and someone who will love and adore him as much as he deserves. In return, you'll get a gentle, sociable and handsome companion who adores you, keeps you company, makes you smile and gives the most incredible hugs. Lenny is in foster in Basingstoke. If you could give him his happily ever after, please apply to adopt him or get in touch to find out more.
