Everything you need to know about Sidney, his personality and the home he is hoping for.
Sidney is a gorgeous, confident, outgoing young boy who is absolutely full of puppy energy, enthusiasm and fun. And when we say full of puppy, we mean FULL of puppy! At the moment he can be jumpy and nippy when he gets excited. His training is going really well, but his new family need to understand that he is still very much a baby with lots to learn. The good news? He is super smart, loves engaging with people and has bags of potential.
Dogs: Sidney loves other dogs, although his puppy play can currently be a little enthusiastic. He could live with a tolerant dog who is comfortable with puppy antics, or he would be equally happy as an only dog. If he is the only dog, regular opportunities for appropriate socialising, doggy friends and positive interactions with other dogs will be really important. Cats: he is good with confident, dog-savvy cats, and is currently rather baffled as to why they don't all want to play with him. Children: Sidney can live with children aged 8+, provided they are confident and used to bouncy, energetic young dogs.
He is crate trained and mostly house trained, although his new family should expect the occasional puppy hiccup while he settles. Sidney loves using his nose, and we think he could have fantastic potential for scent work or other activities that give his busy little brain a job to do. His foster mum is helping him discover the world one adventure, and apparently one coffee shop, at a time. Sidney has now discovered pup cups and would like it formally noted that he approves!
Sidney needs an active home that genuinely wants to put time into training, enrichment and adventures. A secure garden and an active home are a must. Training classes are a condition of adoption, and continued training at home is essential. Spaniel experience would be ideal, but isn't essential for the right home. Most of all, he needs people with plenty of time and enthusiasm for a clever, energetic youngster.
Sidney isn't looking for a home that expects a ready-made perfect dog. He's looking for someone who will help him become one. He is beautiful, funny, social, clever and bursting with potential. With the right guidance, training and opportunities to use that busy brain and brilliant nose, we think Sidney is going to grow into an absolutely wonderful dog. Now he just needs to find the right people to grow up with. If you think you could offer Sidney the right home, we'd love to hear from you.
